Eagle CP School acts as the administration for Little Eagles Pre-School and will allocate places for term time sessions.
Little Eagles accepts children from the age of 2 years up to school age. Funded places are available for 2 year olds meeting specific criteria found at www.childcarechoices.gov.uk . All pre-school children aged 3 or 4 are entitled to 15 hours of free provision provided over 38 weeks, payable in the term after their 3rd birthday. Some parents may also be able to access a 30hours free childcare funding code from www.childcarechoices.gov.uk
Funded childcare may be provided in any nursery class in school, in private provision or in any maintained nursery class. Parents should decide the type and flexibility of provision they require from their chosen provider before they apply for a place. Attendance at Little Eagles does not guarantee admission to our Reception class nor give advantage to a child’s application to our Reception class.
All children, subject to the availability of places, can start following their second birthday. We support funded and non-funded hours, therefore an Expression of Interest must indicate which is the case.
We recommend that a minimum of 15hours is ultimately reached, with a minimum of two sessions initially in order to build continuity and be able to work on all areas of the Early Year Foundation Stage. However, we appreciate that children beginning this transition at the age of 2 may build up to these hours, this may not be the only setting used and parents may wish to wait for funded hours to apply.
Children who are ‘rising 4’s’ and will be starting school in the September of the following year will be invited to join our Reception children as Pre-Reception in the term of their birthday ie:
This is based on a joint decision in respect of age, developmental readiness and parental preference. It may be considered that the information reported in a child’s learning journey and their development against the ages and stages indicates that the Pre-Reception setting would not be beneficial. In addition, children must be able to toilet themselves to take advantage of this Pre-Reception experience.
We have a maximum number of Little Eagles playroom spaces per session, plus access to spaces in the Pre-Reception classroom. As children take up Pre-Reception places, this will relinquish playroom spaces.
We will allocate all places based on the soonest start date and on a first come, first served basis. It is therefore very important that your details on the Expression of Interest form highlight your requirements and if applicable, flexibility.
There will be no other criteria applied other than the dates that are submitted on the Expression of Interest form. Therefore, should you change your mind you must inform us immediately in order to give that place to the next person on the list.
We therefore operate a waiting list. Your place will be secured 4 weeks prior to your start date upon receipt of a security deposit covering your first month’s fees. This will be held and returned in full upon issue of the first invoice.
Once on the waiting list we will give a courtesy call should someone be in a position to take your preferred place sooner than you, giving you the option of changing your start date (not applicable under the age of two).
If you would like to request a place in Little Eagles for your child please complete and return our form to Eagle CP School. Once your application is received it will remain on file until places are allocated as per the admissions policy. We will confirm that we are able to offer a place for your child four weeks before the preferred start date, arrange their admission and confirm the sessions.
